The three little pigs enjoy a bilingual adventure in this lively tale, one of a series of fairy tales in a bilingual format (English/Spanish) offered by Chronicle Books.
A story that delights both young and old, Los Tres Cerditos features the stylized illustrations reminiscent of the fairy tales of old, bright, quirky line drawings that imbue the pigs and the Big Bad Wolf with personality and imagination.
Most adults know this tale, which is even more fun when comparing the bilingual versions of the bumbling porkers as they build their abodes, the materials chosen much too vulnerable to the mighty huffing and puffing of a determined wolf. Of course, the wolf is finally outsmarted, skulking away in defeat, never to be heard from again.
It is great fun reading the words of the wolf as he calls, “Little pig, little pig, let me come in; Cerdito, cerdito, quero entrar!” And the reply, “Not by the hair of my chinny, chin chin.”
Like the other fairy tales offered by Chronicle, this one is a delightful blend of English and Spanish, the text on each page written in both languages, one of the most enjoyable of all the fairy tales.
