Arthur's Dream Boat
by Polly Dunbar
Ages 2+ 40 pages Candlewick February 2012 Hardcover

No one really listens to little Arthur when he tries to share the wonderful dream he has had about an amazing boat: pink and green with a striped mast and a beautiful figurehead. The fact that the boat appears on the boy’s head and gets larger and larger as he tries to share his dream also escapes his family.

Eventually something very strange happens that not only makes the boy’s family stop and listen to him but also come to appreciate Arthur’s Dream Boat.

An imaginative picture book with excellent illustrations, this fanciful tale makes an interesting point that sometimes we just don’t listen to our children, and that’s not something we really want to make a habit!
