But when Gabby gets sick and goes away to the vet, poor Bud finds it hard to continue, until his best friend returns home once again. The text is simple, and the illustrations are quirky and filled with humor, but what really struck me is the story, such a simple story of friendship. It sticks with you and, like your child, makes you want to read the story again…and again.
