Ages 3-5 40 pages Sterling April 2013 Hardcover

Tim J. Myers (Basho and the Fox) has written a picture book about children who run a busy—and much-needed—dinosaur washing business.

When the muddy dinosaurs walk into the Dino Wash Deluxe, they get scrubbed with soapy brushes from their horns to their tail. The dinosaurs seem to be having fun spraying water and popping bubbles, but some of them are a little worried because T-Rex is in town. Spinosaurus shudders when he remembers their previous run-ins, and Ankylosaurus believes he should warn the young owner that T-Rex is bad news.

When T-Rex does appear, he looks angry, especially when shown the shampoo bottle. But when the young entrepreneur realizes the dinosaur is only acting out of fear (of the shampoo stinging), he solves the problem by putting goggles over the dinosaur's eyes.

Facts about each of the eight dinosaurs that visit the Dino Wash appear throughout the story and in the back material of this book. Unfortunately, this reader didn't discover the pronunciation guide until the end of the story.

Use this book in storytimes about dinosaurs, bath time, or overcoming fears.
