Five Little Monkeys Sitting in a Tree
by Eileen Christelow
Ages 4-8 32 pages Sandpiper June 2007 Paperback

Five monkeys decide to amuse themselves by teasing Mr. Crocodile as they sit high above in a tree. It comes as no surprise that the reptile snaps at the limb, resulting in the monkeys plummeting into the water below. As the monkeys fall one by one, readers will learn about counting, wondering about the whereabouts of the monkey that was previously perched at the end of the branch.

Five Little Monkeys Sitting in a Tree is a great introduction to reading, with simple lyrics complemented by vibrant illustrations that young readers will treasure and want to read over and over and over again.
