Grades 10+ 272 pages Putnam March 2009 Hardcover

Annika Truman is a firm believer in the power of positive thinking, and she is determined that her six-year-old brother, Jeremy, become one too. Ever since Jeremy was diagnosed with cancer, Annika has been unable to cry and simply refuses to think of life without him. That’s why it is so important for Jeremy to be absolutely positive his upcoming surgery will go well. In an attempt to show the boy that wishes really do come true, she realizes the flimsy action figure from Jeremy’s favorite TV show, Teen Robin Hood, just won’t do. Instead, Jeremy wishes to meet the real Robin Hood, and Annika isn’t about to let him down.

Thus begins her outrageous journey to meet hunky actor Steve Raleigh. On a secret mission from Nevada to Burbank, this spunky teen pulls out all stops to make her brother’s wish come true. From sneaking inside the studio to ruining the set with a wayward snake, Annika finally comes face to face with the handsome star only to find that he’s too busy to help. But what did Annika expect? Steve Raleigh doesn’t even make time for his own estranged family. In a last-ditch effort, she makes a bet that goes a long way toward helping a little boy and healing other matters of the heart as well.

Janette Rallison has numerous YA titles to her name, recently including My Fair Godmother, Revenge of the Cheerleaders, and How to Take the Ex Out of Ex-Boyfriend. She is presently working on her next novel.
