by Dr. Seuss
Grades PreK-3 56 pages Random House 2010 Hardcover

Dr. Suess is a treasured household name, with over 40 volumes of wild, wacky, moral-enriched stories that have engrossed readers of all ages for decades. His delightful illustrations accentuate the creative word play, characters and scenery that make up Dr. Seuss's world, drawing readers into the fast-paced rhythmic storylines that are his style.

Oh, the Places You'll Go! is newly rereleased with an iridescent party-eddition cover sure to entice many young readers new to the classic Suess books. It's a tongue-twisting, expedited exploration through many of life’s generalized detours and complications.

The ups-and-downs, twists and turns, or whatever little events in life that pop up and make life such an adventure are whimsically approached for children of all ages to understand. Even individual perspectives — i.e. the high-achiever’s — are played upon throughout the story, allowing for more readers to relate to this or that point as they follow along.

Dr. Suess’s eccentric illustrations never fail to attract the interests of children of all ages, treating readers to travels across lands and cities only he could create. Strange animals, plants, beings and buildings captivate and encourage budding minds in their own creative expressions.

While most Dr. Suess books are great for any level of reader, the one real drawback to Oh, the Places You'll Go! is its somewhat elevated reading level, which is better suited to ages 9 and above (though the illustrations are intriguing for all ages).
