Ages 3-6 32 pages Walker June 2012 Hardcover

From Debi Gliori, the author-illustrator of Stormy Weather, comes another visually breathtaking anthropomorphic animal tale about overcoming oneís fears.

The The Scariest Thing of All features a small bunny named Pip who has an endless list of things that terrify him. Pipís vivid imagination turns benign, everyday things such as tree stumps into menacing giant trollsí teeth.

When young Pip accidentally finds himself in the woods one night, he comes face to face with his worst nightmare, the Scary Thing. When Pip stands up to the Scary Thing, the little rabbit learns that perhaps the things that frighten him are not so scary after all.

Although I liked the overall message about bravery in this tale, the story itself was less immediately appealing than some of Debi Glioriís other works. However, her artwork is as luscious as ever, with vibrant, light-filled images jumping off each page. An attractive book to add to any childís collection!
