*Whatever* by William Bee
Whatever
by William Bee
Ages 4-8 32 pages Candlewick February 2007 Hardcover

Ha! That is really all there is to say about William Bee’s Whatever, which is most appropriate for a gag gift for a parent with a young child or perhaps a more mature child with a keen sense of humor. The short tale with a simple message revolves around Billy and his relationship with his father. Specifically, Billy is hard to please and remains unimpressed with each and every one of his father’s attempts to satisfy him.

The book revolves around the timeless lesson that what goes around comes around, and it comically illustrates that this message is one that people of all of ages should appreciate. Whatever is a simple must-read that should earn a permanent home on your bookshelf as a reminder that you just never know when or how things will change.
