Baby-Preschool 32 pages Chronicle Books June 2004 Hardcover

A cute book as well as one that will help young children with their numbers, 1, 2, I Love You by Alice Schertle will be enjoyed by kids as well as their parents. In this wonderfully illustrated book, a mother and son elephant engage in a variety of adventurous tasks together, counting the whole way. For example:
3, 4 dip and pour
oceans from a pail.
We might catch a mermaid
with a swishy fish’s tail.
After they count to ten, they go backward and count from ten down to one.

Not only is 1, 2, I Love You a bright and entertaining book, it is also an educational ones. Very young children will benefit from parents reading the numbers to them, and older children will be able to practice their numbers by reading the book themselves. This learning factor is enhanced by the charming watercolor illustrations by Emily Arnold McCully. The pictures show the two elephants riding in wagons, chasing rainbows and swinging. The pictures are sure to inspire some fun activities between parent and child.

An educational and entertaining book for young and old alike, 1, 2, I Love You is the perfect book to add to your young child’s library and one they will continue to enjoy as they grow older.
