Space exploration is embraced in full with this elaborate alphabet book complete with detailed photographs and retro youthful illustrations. All aspects of space exploration, from actual Apollo missions, flight suit parts, universe and cosmic definitions to satellites, telescopes, space stations, rockets and more, are utilized for alphabetic representation.
Unlike the typical alphabet-type books populating shelves, each of examples here is given a brief, kid-friendly definition to assist young readers in understanding what they're looking at. Space phenomena, technology, and events can be terribly confusing to even the most educated adults, so this simplicity allows for a much greater reading enjoyment.
On a side note with regard to the advanced nature of space exploration concepts: While the theory and accuracy of this alphabet book is great, none of the definitions, pictures, or space exploration concepts is in a well-placed union for the low targeted age range and simplistic nature of an alphabet book. Ideally, barring the fact that this book is indeed an alphabet book, target audience should be ages eight and up, when interest levels and comprehension of the content is applicable.
After serious review and thought, A Is for Astronaut nonetheless makes a good basic introductory to space for children expressing new curiosity about space, space exploration, and NASA.
