Five toddlers explore a baby animal farm in this board book. They’ll discover ducklings, chicks, a lamb and other little animals that they can get up close to and pet. The simple text includes the sounds each of the animals make, which means your preschooler can mimic the quacking and mooing that is part of this read-aloud experience.
This is an ideal way to introduce not only a variety of animals but also the sounds associated with them. Notice that there are both animals and children on every page of this book, which is a nice way of underscoring the fact that a small child need not be afraid of farm animals like these.
From start to finish, this is a positive experience for everyone involved. At the end of the farm visit, the children are all ready for a nap. This might be a good book to set up that same scenario at home!
