This is an ideal way to introduce not only a variety of animals but also the sounds associated with them. Notice that there are both animals and children on every page of this book, which is a nice way of underscoring the fact that a small child need not be afraid of farm animals like these. From start to finish, this is a positive experience for everyone involved. At the end of the farm visit, the children are all ready for a nap.
