In The Best Place to Read , someone manages to instill a love for reading into a young boy which is, as you might imagine, not an easy feat. Just as this obstacle is overcome, the boy comes face to face with a challenge of his own: finding an appropriate place to devour his books. One chair is too small, one is occupied by the family pet, and one is near a cold draft.
As he roams through his home, he decides that his incredibly noisy big sister makes many potential reading place inappropriate for him to curl up. In the kitchen, his younger sister is making such a mess that he knows his book will never come out of the experience in its pristine condition. Also, the running sprinklers prevent any outdoor location from being a viable option. It is only after a long search that the boy decides what he knew from the very start: that the best place to ready is safe and sound in his mother’s lap.
The Best Place to Read has charming text and illustrations that make it a story that children will adore - regardless of where they actually end up flipping through its pages.
