Bosco's Busy Morning (Pop-Up, Pull-Tab, Lift-the-Flap Fun)
by Chuck Murphy
Ages 0-3 14 pages Robin Corey Books August 2010 Lift-the-flap book

Bosco the dog is headed to the park. But before he can go down the big curvy slide, he’s going to round up a few of his friends and chase some mice.

Appearing along the way are birds, snails, ladybugs, and butterflies that teach numbers and colors, and interactive features that encourage observation and participation. Children can search the summer scenery for such things as one blue bird, three orange butterflies and eight pink roses.

To create movement that will surprise and delight young readers, two pages have incorporated pull tabs into the pop-ups. Pulling the tab under Pete’s paw causes his ear to rise up and a mouse to shoot out from behind his water dish.

Parents will like seeing that the characters in this book use their manners on the playground and exude excitement all throughout the story. This book is sturdy enough to withstand repeated use, and large enough to be shared with a small group of toddlers.

Chuck Murphy (One to Ten Pop-Up Surprises!) has been creating pop-up books for thirty years. He lives in California.
