Catch Me If You Can!/A que no me alcanzas! (Green Light Readers Level 2)
by Bernard Most, translated by F. Isabel Campoy & Alma Flor Ada
Ages 5-7 28 pages Harcourt March 2007 Paperback

All the little dinosaurs are afraid of the “biggest of them all” - afraid of his great big tail, his great big claws, his great big feet, and most of all, his great big teeth. But there is one little dinosaur who refuses to be afraid of this monster, who won’t run and hide; she taunts the giant, “Catch me if you can!” She isn’t cowed like the others by his tail, claws, feet or teeth, racing before him. When he grabs her in his giant dinosaur teeth, she giggles, because instead of being eaten, she gets a great big hug. The biggest of them all is her Grandpa.

The vivid illustrations and repetitive Spanish and English text combine in a happy adventure for young readers as the little dinosaur scampers away, unafraid, only to be hugged by her grandfather. At the end of the book, both in English and Spanish, is a suggested activity, Dinosaur Tag, so that children can apply what they have just learned in a game while pretending to be dinosaurs. The author wrote and illustrated this book, his energetic creativity bringing out the pure joy of this dinosaur tale. Level 2 in the Green Light Reader Series.
