Chimp and Zee are back for some interactive learning fun! Each page provides an opportunity for young listeners to learn, or for seasoned listeners to show off their knowledge.
Chimp and Zee start out in their monkey underwear, asking the listener to point to their ears, eyes, nose, fingers, feet, hair and much more. They then move to dressing up, giving the listener a chance to name many different pieces of clothing - some of it silly!
The funny monkeys are soon hungry, and listeners get the chance to name some of Chimp and Zee’s favorite food. They venture off to Jungletown, which is full of many different thinks to point out (boats, flags and fruit, just to name a few).
They are off again, this time testing out various types of transportation from helicopters to diggers to scooters with very noisy tooters. Chimp and Zee also love animals, and play with many different kinds; some would make good pets, some definitely would not.
To teach colors, Chimp and Zee begin painting many different things. They love to play outside, no matter the weather or the day of the week. Chimp and Zee learn to count along with their little listeners. After a busy day, Chimp and Zee play in the bath before heading off to bed, naming everything along the way.
Chimp and Zee's First Words and Pictures provides numerous learning opportunities as we follow along with the adventures of Chimp and Zee. Each section also offers a question for discussion, enhancing the interaction between reader and listener even further. While children love to listen to stories, they are even more excited when they can be part of the adventure. This book is a definite favorite.
