Guido van Genechten’s (Super Ladybug to the Rescue) newest picture book features thirteen circus performers—all near-identical looking bright red ladybugs.
Children can count along on their fingers and toes as the ladybugs show their talents on the stage: 2 two cyclists race in. They do the most amazing tricks on their bicycles. As the numbers get higher (shown both numerically and as words), the stunts get more complex. After the audience sees tightrope walkers, they meet the aerialists, the daredevils, and the acrobats.
As the ladybugs gather on stage to take a bow, children can re-count them and join in with the applause from the audience. This book is a definite attention-getter.
