Baby-PreK 12 pages Little Simon March 2010 Board book

Another in the “Jon Scieszka's Trucktown” series, this board book shaped like its main character features the adventures of Payloader Pete. Pete loves digging holes, but this time he literally gets himself in over his head when he digs a hole so deep he can't get out.

It is up to Pete's Trucktown buddies, Dump Truck Dan and Tow Truck Ted, to rescue the payloader. Of course, once he's out of the huge hole Pete decides to do what he does best - start another excavation!

There's little to recommend the story line of this book, but young children won't mind the lackluster narrative because this series is all about the illustrations. Young children love the animated vehicles, and that's why the books have been so successful.
