*Tip the Triceratops (Dinosauritis)* by Jeannette Rowe
Tip the Triceratops (Dinosauritis)
by Jeannette Rowe
Ages 3-5 16 pages Allen and Unwin May 2014 Paperback

Meet Tip, the fierce-looking but gentle Triceratops. Built like a bulldozer with three horns on his head, Tip may look pretty fierce, but actually he’s more like a big cow in demeanor. Tip likes to hang out with his buddies and eat plants and grass all day.

In some respects, Tip is a little like a modern-day rhinoceros. He has leathery skin and stumpy legs and thinks head-butting things is fun. Unfortunately, poor Tip has a small brain and is not very clever, but he is very, very strong. Tip’s mouth is like a parrot’s beak, but that doesn’t mean he likes birdseed—nor does he talk.

After you have read this clever story about Tip, you’ll discover at the back of the book a page of Triceratops jokes, some fun facts about the creature, and a “Spot the Difference” game.

This inexpensive paperback with brightly colored illustrations will appeal to young children who are fascinated by dinosaurs. There are three other books in this series: Rex the Tyrannosaurus, Tracy the Pterodactyl and Bruce the Brachiosaurus. You might want to consider getting all of them.
