Duck and Goose: Let's Dance!
by Tad Hills, original song by Lauren Savage and Ross Gruet
Ages 2-5 26 pages Schwartz and Wade January 2016 Board book

I cannot get enough of Duck and Goose, and when they are with all their friends, such as in this new board book, they are even more irresistable! With red arrow signs to show directions, exaggerated body movements, and a link to download the free song (which has more choruses than in the book), this is a fun story to add to a toddler’s library.

The dance party takes place outside in the forest. Duck and Goose are accompanied by Thistle and a tiny blue bird. They have decorated the dance area with balloons and confetti. As the story is read, children are instructed to jump front and back, spin, quack, shake, walk, and honk. The end of the song shows Duck and Goose bent over wiggling their tail feathers, and all four animals improvising their own dance moves.

By the end of the book, some children may be ready to dance again (like Thistle) or feel like having a rest (like Duck and Goose).
