This trio of Easter-themed picture books from HarperCollins are full of pastel, egg-hunting fun.
Marley and the Great Easter Egg Hunt features Marley the lovable mutt in his sixth children's picture book, though the first time he's been presented in a paper-over-board format. Cassie and her family are attending the town's much anticipated annual Easter egg hunt. Marley, ever the cooperative canine, wants to help Baby Louie collect a whole bunch of eggs. Swift as he is, he isn't fast enough. Dutiful dog he is, Marley ventures away from the egg hunt and looks everywhere else for eggs, roaming through stores in search of the little shelled items. In the end, he does find something special - love.
Mia: The Easter Egg Chase finds Mia and her family at their traditional egg search. Just as it is every year, a delectable chocolate bunny is offered up as the grand prize. This is the year that Mia herself is determined to claim the delicious delicacy. There's nothing more that Mia wants, but when her tiny cousin Sophie falls short of the other kitties egg-wise, she must rethink what's important to her.
Easter Bunny on the Loose!: A Seek and Solve Mystery! is about a holiday rabbit all hip-hoppity ready to deliver eggs. There's one problem: where are the eggs? Some other misguided hare has taken the Easter bunny's special Golden Egg. Without it, Easter bunny is incapable of doing anything. There are a lot of little four-leggeds who may have stolen the Golden Egg, and it's up to the reader to figure out who did it.
Bright with pastels and cheerfully written, these books will encourage young readers four to eight years. Mia: The Easter Egg Chase comes with a page full of stickers to make the pursuit of the words even more attractive.
