The farm featured in this board book is surrounded by the signs of spring. There are baby animals to count, Easter eggs to find, and new life to name.
The numbers one through ten (appearing as digits, not words) describe the baby animals seen on a farm: 3 playful kids will jump the fence and get in lots of trouble/ 4 bunnies looking just alike are each the other’s double The number eleven is a double-page spread of children participating in an Easter egg hunt. The last number, twelve, shows a skyline of ringing church bells.
The story (originally published in 2010 in hardcover) is illustrated with picturesque country scenes. The yard is surrounded by a white picket fence, and a homemade swing hangs from the branch of a tree. Parents could refer to this book when teaching their children that baby animals have names (i.e. baby ducks are called ducklings).
