Easter Treats: Recipes and Crafts for the Whole Family (A Holiday Celebrations Book) by Jill O'Connor
96 pages Chronicle Books February 2000 Paperback rated 3 out of 5 stars

Anyone who enjoys the Easter holiday will love this. Delightful crafts and treats can be made around Easter or at any time. Some of the lovely decorations you could use for a number of different occasions; the recipes themselves could be used at any time of the year.

Jill O’Connor explains some very basic things, like how to boil eggs and how to blow out eggs for decorating, which means the book is suited for amateur cooks - though some of the recipes call to sauté or use other techniques a lot of amateur cooks have no clue about. The crafts themselves are a very simple for kids to do, but some of the recipes are a little complicated for grown-ups. A little something for everyone is mixed into this Easter craft book.

The full-color photographs in this book are beautiful, making your mouth water for some chicken potpies and garlicky red potato strudel. It is the recipes in this book that make it a nice addition to your collection, especially if you have other books in Jill O’Connor’s series.

This book gets a solid three star for creative recipes and very vivid and beautiful photographs. Easter Treats is a nice addition to your recipe collection and would make a nice gift around holiday time.
