These water-loving pals find all sorts of fun below the waves in this addition to Candlewick's Brand New Readers books. Brand New Readers titles feature contextual clues in their bold illustrations, simple but increasingly sophisticated sentences, and helpful hints for grownups helping early readers up the skill ladder.
Fish enjoys some splashy solitary good times in two of the four books. He swims up, down, upside down, under plants, over rocks, and in circles. Then he finds out what happens when he swims in more circles. He finds a sunken mirror in the sand at the bottom of his home and has fun making faces in it, happy, sad, mad, silly, scary - maybe too scary.
Frog joins the fun in the other two stories. In a friendly game of hide-and-seek, they discover the best suprising place to hide. Then Fish and Frog take turns jumping out of the water, but hard bump to their heads when they jump at the same time leads them to a quieter - and unexpected - underwater game.
Fish and Frog makes a great choice for early readers who enjoy swimming, the outdoors - and, of course, fish and frogs.
