Join five little chicks as they scratch, scratch, scratch around in the barnyard looking for breakfast. “Peep! What can I eat?” each chick asks. Although they see a worm, a bug, a butterfly, some strawberries, and even a nice fat fish - none of these morsels seems to be what they are looking for.
Then Mama Hen solves the menu problem by taking her brood to a corn field where they find some tasty kernels of corn to munch upon. After the little chicks have filled their fuzzy tummies, it’s time to snuggle down for a little nap.
This board book provides preschoolers with the opportunity to practice counting from one to five. The colorful illustrations and simple, rhymed text will make it easy for them to share some of the reading chores, too. This would make a nice gift for either a spring birthday or Easter surprise.
