Go, Dog. Go! - 50th Anniversary Party Edition (Beginner Books)
by P.D. Eastman
Ages 4-8 72 pages Random House March 2011 Hardcover

Go, Dog. Go! was first published in 1961, and it is difficult to find a person of any age who is not familiar with the story and the text.

The book is for early readers and masterfully tells a complete action-packed story using only 75 different words. The dogs are big and little, black and white. Some wear hats, some do not; some dogs are in, while others are out. Different-colored dogs perch upon different-colored trees, and some dogs are over water, while others can be found underneath.

Since this book is a classic that spans so many generations, as the years pass, many of us will find ourselves purchasing multiple copies of it. The publishers seem to be aware of this and therefore reprint the book with slightly tweaked presentations, such as this 50th Anniversary Party Edition, which includes the same text and familiar illustrations etched in our minds but has a foil cover that distinguishes it from former editions.

Go, Dog. Go! is classic that remains just as appealing in its newest addition as when it was first published fifty years ago.
