Ages 4-7 32 pages Disney Press October 2013 Paperback

This Level 2 reader offers a simple but humorous story about Goofy’s attempt to find just the right object to use in place of a traditional sled for his winter adventure. After trying a number of things like a surfboard, a bathtub and an inner tube, Goofy discovers a clothesbasket works quite well. Naturally all of Goofy’s friends join him on the sledding hill to see who can go the fastest.

Good illustrations and more complicated sentence structure make this story a step up for the beginning reader, but don’t worry about the task being too difficult. A child in the first or second grade should have no trouble with this book.
