Hannah the hen is search of a good spot to lay her eggs, but it’s too noisy near the pigs and too busy near the sheep. The pond seems more promising at first, but the farm dog warns her of the fox nearby. With the dog’s help, Hannah finds the perfect place to lay her eggs and watch them hatch.
Hannah on the Farm is a gentle story set on a bucolic farm, and thus a great starter book for babies and young children just learning about farm animals. The illustrations of natural farm settings by Dutch artist Marjan van Zeyl are evocative and soothing.
