Ages 9-12 64 pages Papercutz September 2010 Paperback

In this no-holds-barred parody of the Harry Potter series, Papercutz writer Stefan Petrucha and illustrator Rick Parker bring us the story of Harry Potty following the Barista Frappe’s murder of Always Dumb As A Door, the headmaster of Nosewarts.

After the Minister of Cabbage distributes the items bequeathed to Don Measly, Whiny Stranger and Harry Potter, he sends them on a quest to avenge the death of Harry’s parents and bring balance to Nosewarts. It is an adventure that has the three heroes encountering the likes of the Giant Haggard, the Dark Wizard – Valuemart - and Larry King (yes, Larry King).

In the satirical world of Harry Potty, the trio’s adventures continue in such stories as, “Pain in my Asskaban” and “Omelette on Fire,” in which we meet more of Harry Potty’s friends and foes: McGonagain, Seriously Black, Paco Manly, Cholera Yumfridge, and Robby the elf.

Harry Potty and the Deathly Boring is aimed at older tweens who are big fans of parodies. Those looking for a great deal of silliness and slapstick, puns and punishment are in for a treat with the story and the illustrations, but those who can’t handle that much frivolity may find the jokes and craziness a little tiresome after a few pages.
