This very small novelty book easily fits into a purse or bag if you are traveling. The plush Winnie the Pooh bear attached to the board book cover can be removed, but it is probably better left connected.
As you read the text, various simple activities are suggested—shaking the bear’s hand, tapping his nose, rubbing his tummy, tickling his toes. Everyone loves Pooh, and this little board book allows preschoolers the tactile thrill of playing with the stuffed toy as they identify parts of the body.
It is a clever idea that combines a colorful picture book with a toy that can become the subject of other Pooh activities you can make up. If you’re traveling, for example, have your child explain to Pooh what is happening as you drive along the freeway or wait in the airline terminal. Let the little bear kindle your child’s imagination.
