Have you ever heard a bit of juicy gossip - you know, the kind that you just want to tell someone, be it a rumor or a fact that someone else has entrusted someone else with and is not meant for all to hear? You and I know that this is a bad thing, and we want to encourage our children to not indulge in gossip and hurting other's feelings. Wouldn't it be great if you had a book which addressed this topic in an easy-to-understand manner, especially one for preschoolers? Why not nip the bad habit in the bud at an early age?
Megan McDonald's book addresses the dangers of gossip and how information can be relayed wrongly with each re-telling. The story takes place on a farm, and what better teachers to relay the hazards of gossip to youngsters than talking animals. With each re-telling, the fact becomes more and more far-fetched.
With bright, simple pictures by Joung Un Kim, this book will definitely appeal to all younger readers and audiences, and it is delightful. Gossip shouldn't be repeated time and after time; however, if this book were to be in your library at home, I'm sure it would have to be read over and over again!
