The board book Home for a Bunny , with its reinforced soft cover, is a charming story with inviting illustrations that is a great addition to this new line of Random House children’s book that track former classic stories.
Here, a bunny searching for a new home asks a number of other animals about their living conditions to determine what might be appropriate for him. The nest where a robin lives isn’t a viable option since the bunny might fall out. The home of the frog (in an underwater bog) is excluded since the bunny would drown, just as the inside of the groundhog’s log since the groundhog would not grant him access to it.
It isn’t until the bunny finally meets up with another bunny, who declares “[u]nder this rock, [u]nder this stone, [d]own under the ground, [h]ere is my home,” that he truly finds a comfortable place to rest.
Home for a Bunny is a sweet story with rhyming text that will delight little readers, and the chunky pages will enable them to flip through the pages with ease.
