Turtle can’t fall asleep—not even when he’s offered a soother, a song, or a drink of warm milk..
A ride would make him sleepy, but Turtle and his friends Bat, Octopus, Billy Goat and Bird are in the middle of a field. There are no vehicles around. These multi-patterned animals won’t give up, though. They decide to create their own form of transportation from a sheep barn to lull Turtle to sleep.
The black backgrounds that appear on every page of this book add a feeling of warmth and peace to this bedtime story. Rinck’s (I Feel a Foot) use of rhythm in the dialogue and creativity in the plot makes this a recommended read.
