There seems to be a number of recent children’s literary characters facing an identity crisis. In the end, the fish, bear, pigeon, or whatever finds out it’s okay to be a fish, bear, pigeon, or whatever.
This time it’s a frog. The sassy frog wants to be anything but a frog--until he meets a hungry wolf, and they both learn about the benefits of being a frog.
It might be on the verge of a tired premise but I Don't Want to Be a Frog is sharp and spirited with some tongue in cheek illustrations.
