Sunny the sun is happiest when holding a balloon. “YAYYY!!” she says while holding it with one of her sun ray hands.
When Tizzy the purple tornado asks politely if he can hold the balloon, Sunny replies, “Mine!” This causes Tizzy to RAR and WHOOSH and sniff. You’ve never seen a sun run so fast as you do in this board book when the sun realizes she is the reason her friend is crying puddles in the grass.
“Want to share?” is perhaps one of the best and first phrases we can teach children. That is how this book ends, with those words and an illustration that has probably never been seen before: a sun and a tornado smiling while holding a balloon together.
This book should be paired with I’m Grumpy, another amazing First Comic for toddlers and preschoolers. They both belong in home, school, and public libraries.
