In this fun little adventure, Harry can’t find his favorite hat and he really wants to have it, but his mom is impatient to get going because they are already late to pick up Nana. Harry rushes around his room and gets some help from the dinosaurs in the bucket – where he finds a whole new world… and his cap.
The original Harry and the Bucketful of Dinosaurs by Ian Whybrow and Adrian Reynolds led to the development of an animated television series, and things have come full circle with R. Schuyler Hooke and Art Mawhinney's transposition of the series back into book form. Children will love the fact that Harry and His Bucket Full of Dinosaurs: Into the Bucket opens with a place for the owner of the book to sign their name and personalize their very own copy. This is a relatively small children’s book at only 10 pages, but each page is filled with Mawhinney's fun, colorful illustrations.
Harry and His Bucket Full of Dinosaurs: Into the Bucket is paperback and may not be as durable as some parents or child-care workers would prefer. I could find no information regarding the many eco-printing options available to publishers today that were employed during the production of this book (such as using vegetable inks, recycled content or carbon off-sets). Otherwise, the book is well done, and the twist at the end will have readers' imaginations going wild.
