Kisses for Daddy
by Frances Watts, illustrated by David Legge
Ages 2-5 26 pages Little Simon April 2010 Board book

The humorous Kisses for Daddy reveals the special bond between a father and child. This board book for children two to five years old will also be a hit with Dad when selecting a title for a read-aloud session.

It is time for Baby Bear to go to bed, but he wants to keep playing. When Daddy asks for a goodnight kiss, the grumpy little bear says, "No! No kiss for Daddy."

As his daddy takes Baby Bear through the nightly routine of preparing for bed, he demonstrates a series of "animal" kisses. Although Baby Bear receives giraffe, koala, crocodile, bat, tiger, mouse and monkey smooches from his father, he refuses to reciprocate. He keeps repeating, "No! No kiss for Daddy."

Just as the crestfallen father is about to turn off the lights in his son's room he hears, "Daddy! I have something for you." And, finally, he gets not only a big bear kiss from his little Baby Bear but a big bear hug, too.
