Little Discoveries’ Baby Animals is an incredibly endearing interactive lift-the-flap book that provides an education about a number of animals, highlighting the relationship between the parents and their offspring.
The book offers numerous opportunities for readers to participate in small movements related to the accompanying text, such as pushing the koala bear up the tree, where it spends a significant portion of its day.
A number of different animals are featured, along with accompanying activities to be performed. For example, the mama monkey and her baby will swing through trees with the guidance of a reader, who pushes the cut-out of the money that is suspended by a small rope. When the tab located near the kangaroo is pulled, it causes the baby to peek its head from its mother’s front pocket.
Further, when the illustration of the protruding possum is pulled, it reveals the entire family ready to embark on a walk. The cat’s head can also be swayed to mimic the manner in which the mother is likely to carry her young kitten.
Baby Animals is a lift-the-flap and pull-the-tab book that provides a basic introduction to animals and their babies. It educates as it entertains and will make a wonderful additional to any child’s book collection.
