Ages PreK+ 48 pages Knopf October 2009 Hardcover

Little Blue and Little Yellow has been reissued in a 50th anniversary edition, and this is the perfect to time to make sure that this classic story is not overlooked.

In it, two best friends, represented by a splash of blue and a splash of yellow, enjoy sharing experiences and playing just as any two friends would do. However, when they express their appreciation for one another through an embrace, they completely lose their identity and become a splash of green.

Initially their parents do not recognize their children. It is not until the tears of the children break the colors apart that they realize how the transformation occurred. The potential for change is reinforced again when the families give each other hugs and the color green reappears.

Little Blue and Little Yellow is a sweet story with incredibly simple illustrations which, thankfully, have never changed from their original form. The story has been shared for generations and will likely continue to be an all-time favorite.
