If you recognize the author's name here, it is indeed the same Julie Andrews of The Sound of Music and Mary Poppins fame. Besides singing, dancing and acting, the gifted Ms. Andrews is a noted author of children's books.
This is her final tale of Bo, the spirited and adventurous little feline who loves sailing and visiting exotic locations. As in previous books, Bo the intrepid cat ventures near and far to discover the world.
Andrews takes special care in her descriptions. She talks about the boat and London in particular, a place with which she's more than familiar (Andrews is, of course, British). Here she describes Buckingham Palace in all its royal glory:
"As the limo rounded the corner, Bo saw a wide plaza in front of them with a beautiful fountain at its center, bedecked with magnificent statuary. The monument had a parklike setting on either side. Ahead was a long, tree-lined avenue, and as they continued around the curve, the majestic facade of Buckingham Palace came into view. At the center, atop the palace roof, the royal standard, Her Majesty's flag, fluttered in the breeze."
It's a delightful book with inspired illustrations about a cat who's led a big life.
