A fairy’s sleepless night ends with a magical night of dancing.
When Faith, a dark-haired fairy, can’t sleep, she flies through the forest to investigate the “rustling, crackling, and crunching” noises she hears all around her. After talking with the Sandman, an owl, and a fox, Faith realizes that no one is sleeping. When a moth-fairy prince learns that Faith can’t sleep, he takes her hand and flies her to a midsummer night’s party.
The double-page spreads brim with flowers and wildlife. The only light comes from the moon and the stars. The flowers and grasses seem to sparkle with a dusting of color.
Little girls will love hearing this story before bedtime. They will fall asleep thinking of new friendships and magical adventures. Drescher’s books (In the Land of Fairies, In the Land of Elves) encourage imaginations to grow.
