Baby-3 16 pages Charlesbridge July 2009 Board book

Every Tuesday is library day for Lola and her mother, when they head there to select books which they will read in the upcoming week and return those they read the week before.

The consistent ritual of reading both in the library and at home each night helps both mother and daughter to learn and to grow. The fact that Lola is an African-American child adds a level of diversity to the story which, unfortunately, continues to be a rare find in board books for young readers.

Lola at the Library is a sweet and simple board book that is a great introduction to the world of reading and a wonderful tool that can be used for families to jumpstart reading traditions of their very own.
