Open up Masha the nesting doll and meet her four sisters: Natasha, Galya, Olya, and Larisa. One sentence describes their interests; Natasha is the storyteller, and Galya is the nature lover. Performing, being out in nature, and collecting are the other hobbies the sisters enjoy.
Each doll gets progressively larger in size as the pages are turned. Their bodies are illustrated with their hobbies. Olya, who likes baking and cooking, has measuring cups, mixing bowls, and oven mitts on both sides of her body. The sister who loves performing has illustrations that represent dancing, singing, and playing instruments on her front and back.
Each sister wears a colorful scarf and dress. They all have pale skin, red lips, and rosy cheeks. Although the book doesn’t have many pages, children who own and play with dolls will have fun reading this book because it’s shaped like a doll and each page reveals a surprise--just like a real nesting doll.
