In this engaging story from Israel, little Yael stands on her second-story balcony watching her street to see everything taking place below.
She hears a barking dog, watches as he approaches and leaves, then wonders where he has gone. What about the cat going “miaow, miaow” in the flowers - what does she want? Who honked their horn “Beep beep” - was it the red car? Where is the man on the bicycle going with his basket and fishing pole? And who is that waving to her from below?
This simple story captures the curiosity of a young child who is learning about the world around her for the first time. The signs above the stores and on the streets of Yael’s neighborhood are shown in Hebrew, adding a nice multicultural touch to the story. This is a pleasant and sweet story to read together with a young child.
