Peekaboo Barn (A Lift-the-Flap Book)
by Nat Sims
Ages 2-4 22 pages Candlewick August 2014 Board book

This lift-the-flap book features animal sounds. To see if you have identified the correct animal, just open the red barn doors. It’s that simple! Parents should go through the entire book and open all the doors before giving this book to a child, since the first time around the doors can be a challenge to open.

Also, beware of one other problem. Young, energetic children may well rip the door right off the page. That doesn’t mean you still can’t use and enjoy the book, but it does change the “what’s behind the door” element!

Finally, this book offers a free app. FORGET IT! First of all it doesn’t work that well so that will upset techies. Also, I don’t think it’s a good idea to encourage young children to lock on to technology at such an early age. Just use the book, enjoy it, and forget the silly app.
