Ages 1-3 16 pages Disney Press January 2011 Board book

This novelty book with thick pages features a rattle in the handle and photos of actual children engaged in play with some favorite Disney characters. The “play” objects include simple things like colored cups, a ball, a cardboard box and a toy chest.

The pictured children are encouraged to make some noise, identify colors, bounce the ball, even play “train” in the box. If you get creative with Play, Baby, you can turn it into a game by having your little one point to the puppies, the elephant or the two cats. Better still, have the child count how many creatures he or she sees on a given page. The number ranges from one to three, so it is not too difficult a task.

This board book is a good way of heightening your child’s awareness of the world around him or her. Also, let your youngster try to turn the “little finger friendly” pages as you look at the book to encourage coordination and manual dexterity.
