Since children love to stare at the bright blue sky and watch the white puffy clouds, they are bound to love the sweet, unique story told by Christoph Niemann in The Police Cloud . The tale revolves around an ambitious cloud who dreams of a career as a police officer. The Department eventually provides him with the opportunity to live out his dream, but the job, for practical reasons, just does not work out. Despite the cloud’s drive and determination, his physical characteristics simply prevent him from catching a thief or guiding traffic. In addition, since he blocks the sun as he works, he faces great resistance from the public when hovering over the park to offer some protection.
Just as the cloud starts to accept that he may never realize his dream of becoming an officer, he discovers that the closing of one opportunity usually means the opening of another. The Police Cloud is a charming story that reinforces the message that things do work out. This sentiment, along with the bright illustrations, makes this book one worth adding to your collection.
