Ages 3+ 12 pages Robin Corey Books January 2012 Paperback

Puppies, Kittens, and Other Pop-up Pets is a great way to introduce little ones to a number of potential household pets, and the vibrant three-dimensional pop-up illustrations make this book one that will be a great addition to any child’s book collection.

The choice may be between a meowing cat (that pops up), a squawking parrot (that is hidden behind a flap) a bunny that hops out of its cage (once the tab is pulled), or a puppy whose large ears and wagging tongue leap off the page. If those choices do not suffice, perhaps a hamster that runs through its cage, or a fish (who must stay in his bowl and cannot be hugged) would be the preferred choice.

The vibrant illustrations and simple story make this pop-up book a great choice, and the fact that it is reasonably priced at $7.99 should eliminate any reluctance about purchasing a book that is hardly indestructible.
