Scaredy Squirrel lives up to his name. If there is anything that can possibly bring harm or danger his way, he will go out of his way to avoid it—and just about everything outside of his tree is far too risky for Scaredy Squirrel.
He’d like to go camping, but there are so many risks in the wild, including but not limited to quicksand, penguins and zippers. The simple solution: watch someone else go camping on television, from the safety of his own living room.
But how do you get electricity for a television up a tree? The closest outlet is miles away at the campground. And so begins Scaredy Squirrel’s unwitting campground mission.
Melanie Watt’s illustrations resemble a running series of infographics as our hero squirrel creates maps and checklists outlining every step, risk and surprise penguin along the way.
Scaredy Squirrel Goes Camping is supremely silly and perfect for kids not ready to try new adventures. If the Squirrel can make it, any kid can.
