Sweet Dreams Lullaby
by Betsy E. Snyder
Grades PreK-K 32 pages Random House January 2010 Hardcover

A mama rabbit tucks her baby bunny into bed at night and kisses him gently on the forehead. She invites him to picture soothing scenes and “dream of comforts all around” as he nods off to sleep: robin’s eggs in a nest, soft blossoms, pillowy cotton clouds, gentle showers, shooting stars, and frogs, ducks and hummingbirds settling in for the night.

Sweet Dreams Lullaby is a calm and wonderfully soothing bedtime book that is sure to become a favorite with preschoolers and kindergarteners. The soft and gentle cadence of the text is inviting, leaving one with the sense of being wrapped in a cozy quilt. The fantasy landscapes made using collage artwork in beautiful, evocative colors are a visual treat.

Author-artist Betsy Snyder has once again produced a winner, one worthy of her previous books, the adorable touch-and-feel book Have You Ever Tickled a Tiger? and haiku baby, a Cooperative Children's Book Center selection for 2009.
